Calendar Listings
Press releases for general interest and business events should be e-mailed to Jennifer Leavitt-Wipf one week prior to publication. Press releases relating to arts, sports, schools, etc. should be sent to the editors listed above.
Letters to the Editor
Letters must e-mailed to Linda Leavitt by noon on Tuesday to be considered for that Friday’s paper. Please send letters as Microsoft Word or text documents or paste the copy into the body of an e-mail. Letters should be 500 words or less and include the name, home address (or community affiliation, if speaking for a group) and phone number of the writer(s). Letters may be edited for space, clarity or to prevent libel. Anonymous letters will not be published. If sending a letter by snail mail or fax, please alert the editor by phone. E-mail confirmations will be sent for all letters received via e-mail.
Milestones
The Scarsdale Inquirer publishes obituaries, as well as engagement, wedding and birth announcements — free of charge — for current and former residents of Scarsdale, Edgemont and Hartsdale, as well as people who work or previously worked in our communities. Copy will be edited to conform to the paper’s editorial style and available space. Photos should be sent as .jpg or .tif files, saved at 200 dpi or greater. Wedding, engagement and birth announcements should be e-mailed to Ilene Nechamkin. Obituaries and memorial service announcements should be e-mailed to Debra Banerjee. They will be posted on the website as soon as they are edited. To have an obituary published unedited, as a paid ad, contact Barbara Yeaker
Business and Volunteer News
Press releases about new businesses opening in our coverage area are welcome, as are announcements of appointments, awards and promotions pertaining to both business and volunteer activities. We also publish news of charity drives and fundraisers. Send business or volunteer news and ideas for stories to Linda Leavitt.
School Announcements
School announcements should be sent to Carrie Gilpin (Scarsdale) or Debbie Anders (Edgemont). College Mailbag items should be sent to Linda Leavitt, with the local high school of the student specified.
